With more people seeking alternatives to spending their final days in a hospital or nursing home setting, along with increasing healthcare costs, and the number of people needing end-of-life care, now is the time to expand our community’s options.
Recognizing the need for local inpatient hospice services, RiverStone Health, in collaboration with local healthcare providers, is planning to build a new inpatient hospice home. As Billings continues to become more of a destination for advanced cancer care, organizations like Billings Clinic have expressed appreciation for the efforts RiverStone Health is taking to expand hospice care. As a result, Billings Clinic has become a major supporter of this project to help address this important need.
Our objective is simple; provide our community with a place where patients and their loved once can face end-of-life challenges with dignity, comfort, and compassion.
The RiverStone Health Hospice Home will be a comfortable place where family and friends can be alone with their loved one in a warm, caring environment. Patients will receive comfort oriented care that neither hastens nor postpones death, but focuses instead on maintaining quality of life. This philosophy of care enables patients and their loved ones to face a myriad of challenges with dignity, courage and strength.
To pay for the construction of the new inpatient hospice home, the RiverStone Health Foundation has launched the “Today’s Comfort – Tomorrow’s Dignity” capital campaign to raise $2,500,000; the first multi-million campaign in its history.
Fortunately an ideal location has been found to make this much-anticipated hospice home a reality for everyone in the community. Through their joint venture, Missions United, St. Vincent Healthcare and St. John’s Lutheran Ministries set aside land specifically for the future development of an inpatient hospice home. St. John’s Lutheran Ministries and St. Vincent Healthcare are leasing this land to RiverStone Health for just one dollar a year.
If you would like to be a part of this exciting capital campaign or for more information please call the RiverStone Health Foundation at 406.651.5555.
