2010 Tree of Lights Event

2009 Tree of Lights Event
The 19th Annual Hospice Tree of Lights ceremony on December 1, 2009, was truly a “heart warming” event on a chilly, winter evening. There were close to 700 names celebrated on the four large scrolls which were on display at the Yellowstone County Courthouse for the entire month of December and all names were read aloud by hospice volunteers and staff during this intimate ceremony. We were honored to have Cory, Vavi, Connor and Jayden Waddingham to officially light the tree on the courthouse lawn. Vavi’s father, Leonard Rathie, wished for his final days to be at their home in Molt. Vavi says that little Jayden was quite the nurse, evening rubbing lotion on his feet each night. Vavi was so thankful that RiverStone Health Hospice Services would travel all the way to their home in Molt and for all their help.
Often all the costs for hospice care are not covered by insurance and sometimes individuals have no way to pay for these services. The Hospice Tree of Lights event, along with our Hospice Golf Tournament held in June of each year, allows us to provide hospice services equally regardless of an individual’s ability to pay. This year the Hospice Tree of Lights event raised approximately $20,000 to help provide care for terminally ill individuals.
