Now, here’s a guy who really knows how to make organizations work.  By that, we mean the way they are supposed to work. At first blush you might think it’s because he has an MBA in Operations Management. Or a BS in Occupational Therapy, which comes in handy in the health business. Or that he’s a candidate for a Masters in Public Health. Or that he is a Fellow in the distinguished American College of Healthcare Executives. Or the fact that he spent years in leadership and management positions in the private sector, most notably in a center that helped cancer patients in a variety of rehabilitation settings.

But education and experience is only part of the story. John Felton is more than a resume. He’s passionate. When he says that he works at RiverStone Health because of “the opportunity to serve the community,” he is not kidding. Felton took a substantial decrease in pay when he joined RiverStone Health because, as he puts it, “working in a forward-looking, entrepreneurial organization that does meaningful work,” means something to him.
