RiverStone Health is home to Montana’s only graduate medical education program, the Montana Family Medicine Residency (MFMR). The residency provides a comprehensive education in the full scope of primary care family medicine to medical school graduates, preparing them for a practice in rural and underserved areas of Montana.

MFMR oversees a rural and frontier research network, developing information on the unique healthcare needs and resources of rural Montana. Our faculty and resident physicians provide medical care to patients at all of the RiverStone Health locations, including both Billings Hospitals, all local long-term care facilities as well as in patients' homes.

Medical students seeking to apply to the residency should do so through the Electronic Residency Application Service. Students wishing to do medical rotations can call the residency for a referral to the student placement office.
