Restaurants & Food Vendors
Contaminated food and unsafe food preparation can lead to illness. RiverStone Health Environmental Health Services takes multiple steps to help reduce health risks and prevent food borne illness.
We conduct education, inspection and enforcement activities in food establishments and provide information to the Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services: Food & Consumer Safety Section for the licensing of these establishments. Food establishments include restaurants, school lunch programs, temporary events, mobile units, grocery stores, bakeries, and food manufacturers. We also investigate consumer complaints and food borne illness outbreaks as well as assisting with food recalls.
Enforcement may include:
- Onsite employee training
- Manager certification requirements
- Voluntary closure recommendations
- Corrective action plans
- Frequent follow-up inspections
- Language translation of educational materials and inspection reports
