The 2009/2010 flu season is here. This season is unique due to the novel strain of H1N1 influenza. RiverStone Health Public Health Services has been monitoring the flu situation closely. It is our goal to help prevent as many cases of influenza as possible.

H1N1 Vaccine Availability as of Monday February 1, 2010

Beginning Monday, February 1st, FREE H1N1 vaccine is available at RiverStone Health Clinic at 123 S. 27th St. during normal walk-in immunization hours:

Monday 1pm-4:30pm
Wednesday 11am-6:30pm
Friday 1pm-4:30pm

H1N1 vaccine is available to anyone who wants it.

If you come to get your H1N1 vaccine, please:
• Dress in loose clothing; something that is easily accessible for receiving an injection.
• Be prepared to tell medical personnel what kind of vaccines you or your child has had in the past month.
• If someone other than a parent or guardian brings a child for an H1N1 flu vaccination, please bring a signed letter of consent from the child’s legal guardian.

You do NOT need to bring:
• Immunization records
• Birth certificate
• Medical records
• Physician’s note

Information is constantly changing so people seeking H1N1 vaccine should regularly check this website or call the RiverStone Health flu information line – 651-6444 – for the most up-to-date information on vaccine distribution.  This website and the flu information line are updated as conditions change.


Seasonal Flu Vaccine Availability:

Doses of seasonal flu vaccine are available at RiverStone Health Clinic during normal immunization hours for people ages 6 months to 49 years. Seasonal flu vaccine costs $12 for kids and $25 for adults at RiverStone Health.

Please note that St. Vincent Healthcare is unable to bill insurance for this vaccination, but will provide paperwork to submit to insurance.

Flu, Don’t Get It, Don’t Spread It
Everyone can take everyday steps to prevent the spread of germs like the flu virus:
1. Wash your hands often
2. Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze
3. Stay home if you are sick
4. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
5. Get vaccinated
